Academician Xu Zuxin has been appointed as the “Chief Consultant for Comprehensive Utilization of Water Resources in Dali Prefecture” and was invited to give a special lecture

On July 2, 2023, Professor Xu Zuxin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was invited to the Dali Cadre Forum in Dali Prefecture. She gave a special lecture titled “Pollution Control and Efficient Use of Water Resources in Lakes’. The aim is to further enhance the capability level of the prefecture’s leading cadres and promote high-level protection of Erhai Lake and the high-quality transformation of industries. Yang Guozong, the secretary of the prefectural committee, presided over the event and presented the letter of appointment for the Chief Consultant for Comprehensive Utilization of Water Resources in Dali Prefecture” to Academician Xu Zuxin.

Academician Xu Zuxin is a top talent and industry leader in the water environment management field. She has long been committed to the comprehensive treatment of urban water environments in China. He led the team to develop core technologies and feasible engineering solutions for urban river pollution control in China and other developing countries. He participated in the water environment management work of many cities in China and made significant progress, especially in making outstanding contributions to the treatment of black and odorous water in the Suzhou River in Shanghai and in improving water quality. He has an important influence in the international water environment management field.

In the lecture, Academician Xu Zuxin analyzed international lake management cases, improved the level of urban sewage interception and treatment, and combined it with international realities and Dali’s actual situation. Using a large number of detailed cases and data, he deeply analyzed the new challenges faced by China’s water environment protection, profoundly pointing out the prominent problems and solutions in the water pollution treatment of the Erhai Lake Basin, which has important guiding significance for Dali to enhance the protection of Erhai Lake.
