What is hCG?
hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a a naturally produced hormone in the body that is produced during pregnancy. The key function of hCG is to make sure that the mother does not feel hungry or feeble as her body provides nourishment for the child growing inside. Despite her low-calorie intake, hCG provides energy by “burning” a pregnant woman’s fat deposits, helping to keep her from feeling weak or hungry.
What is hCG Weight Loss?
At Optimyze: our physician-assisted weight-loss program involves hCG injections along with a 500-800 calorie per day diet free of fat, sugar and starch. The use of hCG will help you lose abnormal fat, rather than normal fat.
Three types of fat:
Reserve fat—This is the fat that the body draws upon when one skips a meal and their body needs energy.
Structural fat– This fat is located in between the organs to cushion them and in between the joins and bones.
Abnormal fat—The “fat bank”. The body stores this excess in case of starvation.
You need reserve fat and structural fat to survive. However, you can do without the abnormal fat as this type of fat causes health problems. Using hCG injections will re-sculpt your body by losing the abnormal fat. Because the hCG program targets the abnormal fat, hCG patients do not end up losing their muscle mass.
