THE United Nations Environment Program (UNEP)-Tongji University Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development (IESD) was jointly established by Tongji University and UNEP in 2002. As the earliest college jointly built with United Nations institutions in China, The United Nations College has become a comprehensive platform college integrating international exchanges and training in education and scientific research, as well as one of the centers for global higher education institutions to jointly build sustainable development education under the guidance of the UNEP.
The International Master's program in Environmental Management (degree awarding point: Environmental Science) of The United Nations College has enrolled 464 Chinese and foreign students from 83 countries, with a ratio of 1:4.
Program features: (1) English-only learning, global cultural collision, rich extracurricular activities. (2) 2.5 years academic system, no additional tuition, and enjoy the same treatment as ordinary postgraduates. (3) Priority participation in United Nations internships and United Nations conferences (COP and UNEA, etc.).
